Laura Ruo-An Lin, born in Taiwan, began playing the cello at age four. At eight, she was accepted into the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School, where she studies with Matthijs Broersma, Bartholomew LaFollette, and Una Cho. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Colin Carr, Alexander Chaushian, Gary Hoffman, and Marc Coppey.
Laura made her concerto debut at 11, performing Vivaldi’s Cello Concerto in G Major with the Marryat Players String Orchestra, and in 2023, she debuted as a soloist with the Farnham Sinfonia. A passionate chamber musician, she played Fauré’s La Bonne Chanson with pianist Ashley Wass and soprano Mary Bevan. She has performed at the Festival Les Musiques Vagabondes in Normandy and collaborated with composers Jeremy Menuhin and Sally Beamish, performing their works. Her first international tour took her to Germany, where she played Spohr’s Double Quartet No. 4.
