Rinchen Posel began her music studies in Singapore at the age of four, then continued her studies at the Bard College Preparatory Division in upstate New York. She studied there under Janara Khassenova for six years, and had the opportunity to perform several solo concerts. She achieved First Prize in the Young Pianist Division of the Nazareth University Piano Competition in 2020 and was a prizewinner at the King’s Peak Online International Music Competition and London Youth Piano Competition in 2021.
In May 2022 she was WMHT Classical Student of the Month, which gave her the opportunity to be interviewed and perform on the radio. Later that year, she was accepted into the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey. She now studies under Anahit Chaushyan, and has had multiple masterclasses with Andreas Frölich. Rinchen is also a passionate chamber musician and has solo and chamber sessions with David Dolan, an acclaimed improvisationary coach. Under their guidance, Rinchen has been a prizewinner in numerous regional and international competitions, such as First Prize in the online Amadeus International Music Awards, Third Prize in the online Berlin Classical Music Competition, and has had the opportunity to perform in the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall.
Most recently she participated in the Odyssiad Piano Competition in Colorado over the summer, where she achieved great success.
Her ambition is to continue developing her abilities in performance, both solo as well as chamber, in order to better share her love of music with a wider audience. Besides piano, Rinchen also enjoys playing violin, composing, and choir at her school.
