These terms cover two things: booking tickets for our recitals, and using this website. We have kept them as plain as we can. By booking a recital or using the site, you agree to them. Breinton Recital Society (also known as Soirées at Breinton) is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1151972, of Breinton, Heath House Road, Woking, Surrey GU22 0RD.
Booking recitals
- Ticket sales are final and non-refundable. We cannot return your payment if you are unable to attend. If we have to cancel a recital, your payment will be refunded in full. Donations are non-refundable.
- Tickets may be transferred to another person. You may give or sell your tickets to someone else for the same recital; tickets cannot be transferred to a different recital or date. Please let us know who will be attending in your place, as our recitals take place in a private home.
- We may be able to help you transfer a ticket. If you cannot attend, we may be able to pass your tickets to another member. Where we do, an administrative charge of 30% of the ticket price applies, and we need at least three days’ notice before the recital.
- Programmes and artists may occasionally change. Where a programme or performer changes, tickets remain valid and are not refundable; if the recital itself is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.
- Recitals may be photographed or recorded. Members of the audience may appear incidentally in photographs, audio or video. Please tell us if you would prefer not to appear or do not wish to be included in any marketing materials — see our Privacy Policy.
- No cooling-off period applies. Because tickets are for a leisure event on a specific date, the usual 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply. Nothing in these terms affects your other statutory rights as a consumer.
Any booking terms shown for a particular recital apply to bookings for that recital, alongside these terms.
Using this website
You are welcome to view, print and share pages from this website for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not misuse the site: do not attempt to damage or disrupt it, use it for anything unlawful, introduce malicious software, or harvest content or personal data from it by automated means.
Our content
The material on this website — text, photographs, recordings and design — belongs to Breinton Recital Society or is used with the kind permission of our musicians, their managements and photographers, and is protected by copyright. If you would like to reuse anything beyond personal use, please ask us first; we are usually happy to help. Our newsletter may be shared freely with anyone who might enjoy it.
Other people’s websites and services
Our pages link to and embed content from services we do not control, such as YouTube (recital videos), PayPal (donations), Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. We are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
What we cannot promise
This website is provided free of charge, and while we take care over it, we cannot promise that everything on it is complete, accurate or up to date, or that the site will always be available. We may change, move or remove content at any time.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales, and nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer. Beyond that, because the website and its information are provided free of charge, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from your use of the website or reliance on its content, and we are not liable for business losses of any kind, or for events beyond our reasonable control.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in force when you make a booking are the ones that apply to that booking.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
